Okay, been at this photography stuff for awhile, mainly as a snapshooter. Got semi/quasi-serious about it on our trip to Oz/New Zealand, and shortly afterwards to Europe.
This blog is just to provide a place for posting Rob's shots for others to see, if they are interested.
My wife and I liked our photos (snapshots) from those two trips enough to frame up a bunch and use them to decorate our place. Now we've had a couple of inquiries about buying some prints...and am now entering into the realm of stock photography.
Gotta tell you, doing the stock photography made me more critical of my photos than anything else I have seen or read. I know the really good photographers are quite talented and know their cameras and the ins and outs of photography way better than I likely ever will. But it was not until I had to "meet the standards" to qualify for stock photos - sheesh, I could not believe it, STOCK photos that the message came through loud and clear: I have to treat this photography thingy with a lot more respect.
So, here ya go, a handful of shots to peruse and perhaps enjoy. Anything you see here is certainly for sale - as is my camera, computers, and assorted other possessions - just drop me a line of inquiry at robwilson@mac.com. I hope to have a photo website up and running by the middle of summer, and there you would be able to order photos you like, from basic print enlargements all the way up to mounting, protective spray, and framing.
All comments and feedback are appreciated, as long as no flamers come my way. I am after all a sensitive guy hiding behind a rough exterior.
I'll blog from time to time about what I am learning and where I am going and some progress milestones (I hope, I hope). You are invited to observe or participate, as you see fit.
First up: some photos from New Smyrna Beach, our home for the last 18 months or so. Never thought I would enjoy living within a mile of the beach, but it is a blast. These shots are all taken in and around this area.
